wp8158a452_0f.jpg I heard about Andy and his method for the first time about two years ago on CBC’s radio one Ontario Today show, after listening to him I went home and called him up, I asked him a few questions and told him I wanted to be able to say properly in English the name of my late grandmother Julia, he right on the spot showed me where to put my tongue in order to achieve it, so I bought his DVD and go a few session online using a webcam. One day a Canadian friend who I haven’t spoke in almost a year called me on the phone and halfway to our conversation she said “Miguel your English is way better now” I reply “What do you mean?” to which she said “Your accent is fading away” needless to say how happy that made me feel, I wrote a letter to Andy right away to let him know and called him a genius for developed such a great way of reducing someone accent, think about it, his power of observation are out this world.

After a few months, I always wanted to go and see the west coast of Canada, Vancouver in particular, I asked Andy if while I was over there we could have a few one on one lesson, he not only agreed but he offered me staying at his place for a price cheaper than the hotels and teach me eight hours a day and show me around the city and vicinity. We have a couple of sessions with the camera and I learned great deal it was worth it and he is a great host.

Currently I using his latest DVD, I’m a work in progress, my accent is fading away further and faster, sometimes when I said short sentences people would ask me, were you born here? It takes a lot of work but it’s doable.

Once again Andy, my friend, thank you for your method.

wp9e9edd62_0f.jpg Ahmad, who is now starting up his own software company, only wishes he had heard about accent reduction when he first arrived in Canada. “Taking Andy’s course was an excellent opportunity,” he says. “It helped me to better integrate with Canadian culture.”

wp58ccf5c7.jpg In 2002, Andy taught ‘24’ star, Peter Wingate, to lose his heavy British accent. Peter currently has a major role on Keefer Sutherland’s drama, and speaks his lines with a perfect American accent. You can get the same results. Here is a segment of a letter of appreciation that Peter wrote to Andy in Sept. 2002.

Dear Andy

…I wanted to say a big thank you to you for your help and support as I worked on my American accent this year, going… from my native British. Your classes were of tremendous value to me, not just by giving me practical skills to approach an American text, but also by giving me the confidence to go out there and try it in the field.

As a testament to your teaching skills let me tell you that I recently got my first job in an American accent on the film “X-Men 2.”…I have a dozen scenes and will be working with nearly all of the main stars, including Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, and Ian McKellen… I have had quite a few auditions for American roles and I have just finished filming my first leading role, playing a San Francisco cop on the show “Just Cause.: That was really a great thrill for me as it was a lot of dialogue and I was delighted to find that I felt free to be creative even in this strange, alien tongue.

This has been a tough year for most people in the industry. Without the ability to work in the American accent, there would have been no work for me whatsoever.

I am greatly indebted to you for your encouragement and confidence building, Andy.

Many thanks.    Peter (Peter Wingate)

Thank you very much for your lesson last Saturday! Your accent reduction method gets results amazingly! Nobody had ever been able to tell me what exactly was wrong with my speech until I took your K Method accent reduction course. Your instructions were very precise, accurate and full of revelations. The lesson was so specific to an individual needs. I was able to speak without an accent in just 2 hours. Now I find myself correcting myself and practicing your methods quite frequently. I am very sure there will be a remarkable improvement in my accent if I keep practicing. Studying with you has been very inspiring. Thank you so much for your great instruction. I love to check back with you on my progress!      Cheers,Agnes

Chinese Student...

Specifically, the method of watching live on a monitor, the ways that my lips move, it suddenly came to me that my lips were only in position moments before sounding the words. I am just too eager to say the words that I almost all the time have neglected the beauty of sounding the word. Now I am waiting, in position, before I say each word and I am beginning to really enjoy vocalizing the words. Started saying all the words slowly. As a participant, I learned and practised Andy's simple 5 step instructions on speaking with an American accent. I felt that in addition to improvements on my pronunciation, being an actor, I was able to get into character much more at ease

Thank you, Andy.
